Vos Glass Announces a Strategic Transformation

Date: 14 April 2016

Vos Glass announces a leadership and ownership transition that will advance the company’s reputation as a leading specialty contractor in West Michigan.

David Turner will succeed Linda Vos-Graham as owner/president of the company where she has worked for 33 years and served as president since 2001. Turner is recognized in the West Michigan construction community for his leadership at Kent Companies for 25 years, where he retired as president. Turner has served on several boards and industry trade associations including the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. of Western Michigan.

Vos-Graham will continue to help guide the company, serving on an advisory board along with her husband, Ken Graham, who was Vice President of Vos Glass.

Brian Potter, President, Architectural Metals, Inc. (AMI) joins Turner as a strategic owner/partner with Vos Glass and will serve as a board director. The transition will strongly position Vos Glass and AMI to further their collaboration and partnership as building envelope contractors.

“This is the next step working together on the exterior shell or envelope of buildings,” says Potter. “We want to further align our businesses to better serve architects, owners, construction managers and general contractors through a comprehensive effort that is unmatched in our industry.”

Vos Glass and AMI have collaborated on many projects, most recently Spectrum Health Integrated Care Campus at East Beltline, and the headquarters for Gordon Food Service and Meijer, Inc. Several jobs have been jointly secured for 2016 through 2017.

“My focus has been, and continues to be, on building an enduring organization,” said Vos-Graham. “One that continues the level of craftsmanship, integrity, innovation and pride that my parents started in 1982 when they founded Vos Glass. The new, ambitious and talented leadership team will continue to provide opportunities for all of our employees and improve value for our customers.”

Three long-time employees have been named to new roles: Tim Audretsch, Vice President Construction, Terry Myers, Vice President Retail and Denise Volpe, Controller. These individuals have been prepared and positioned for these executive roles over the past several years.

Vos Glass will continue to be a “family” business with several sets of brothers, cousins and father-son teams. Turner’s son, John, will join the team to lead business development. He has grown up in the construction industry and has worked in various sales and business development roles for the past several years.
