The new updates include Solarban® 65 glass, Spandrelite™ glass for select buildings and quicker access to product data sheets, Revit Project Files (RVT), sample orders and a snapshot of the current simulation.
Introduced in spring 2022, VitroSphere® offers users a powerful tool to view over 20 Solarban® solar control, low-e glass products’ color, transparency and reflectance across five building types: offices, convention center, hospital, multi-family and university.
The tool enables users to visualize their façade choices under various conditions, including sunny, overcast and nighttime settings, all of which can dramatically influence facade appearance. A zoom function allows for closer inspection of the glass, offering a detailed view both up close and from the perspective of being inside the building. There is also a comparison tool that allows users to apply an additional Solarban® coating to their simulation.
To give users an additional visual element of what a transformed façade may look like, Vitro added a Spandrelite™ glass feature that shows views of black, warm gray or white Spandrelite™ glass options on building types such as offices and multi-family. VitroSphere® is expected to be refined in the future to include a BirdSmart® Bird Safe Glass feature that allows users to visualize the product’s laser-etched, first-surface dot patterns.
VitroSphere® also quickly connects users to other Vitro glass design tools like Construct an IGU and emissions™ Calculator. These additional resources simplify product selection and spark discussions about the ideal Solarban® glass product that meets performance and aesthetic goals for any project.
In 2023, VitroSphere® earned an R&D 100 Award from R&D Magazine, the most prestigious innovation awards program over the past 60 years.
