Developed for design professionals, this free, virtual drink-and-learn event will review foundational wine tasting concepts used by experts in the field.

Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) has introduced its “Vino with Vitro” wine education series, a bimonthly virtual drink-and-learn event that pairs an expert-guided wine tasting class with key themes related to specifying glass products.

The “Vino with Vitro” event series was developed for design professionals as a free opportunity to learn about foundational wine tasting concepts used by experts in the field.

“Vino with Vitro” events are hosted by Chris Fronsoe, national architectural manager, Vitro Architectural Glass, and a certified wine educator and sommelier. For each event, Fronsoe selects two to three wines that attendees can readily purchase online or from wine suppliers nationwide and guides them through an interactive tasting session.

“Wine and glass are the perfect pairing,” said Fronsoe. “There are many parallels between evaluating wines and understanding architectural glass products, which all have their unique chemistries, nuances and stories that offer different benefits to different types of projects.”

Each month, “Vino with Vitro” features a unique theme for its bimonthly sessions. In March, attendees will take a virtual journey through Italy, exploring three well-known regional varieties of Italian wine and learning about their compositions, origins, aromas and beyond. April attendees will take an in-depth look at pinot noirs, and in May, Fronsoe will feature three popular varieties of white wines.

The next “Vino with Vitro” event will take place on Thursday, March 25 at 6 p.m. (EST). Participants who register online will receive a list of recommended wines to purchase along with a downloadable placemat that guides their tasting experience.

“Over the past year, we all have learned the importance of staying connected, both professionally and personally,” added Fronsoe. “We hope ‘Vino with Vitro’ is a nice change of pace for the architectural community in how they interact with manufacturers.”
