Always pushing for continuous improvement, Liniar’s latest update to its aluminium door range Alumina takes the product options to a new level, especially for installers.

Innovative systems company Liniar is looking to raise the bar again. Always pushing for continuous improvement, Liniar’s latest update to its aluminium door range Alumina takes the product options to a new level, especially for installers.

Already exceptional when it comes to security, appearance and thermal efficiency, the Alumina range of bi-folding doors, flush fit French doors and residential doors is now even faster to fit, thanks to a fully matching optional PVCu bead.

Alumina doors span up to 2.5m high, offering wide expanses of glass and slim sightlines in hundreds of warm touch foil finishes or three stunning RAL powder-coated finished, available on the interior and exterior of the door.

The foiled finishes could be supplied with PVCu beading, making them faster to fit as well as enhancing thermal efficiency even further. However previously, RAL powder-coated versions of Alumina were supplied with aluminium beading due to the potential colour shade difference between the powder coating and the PVCu bead.

Now, thanks to Liniar’s newest technology, when property owners choose to have their Alumina doors supplied with a white RAL powder-coating finish on either the internal or external face, they also have the option of having them fitted with perfectly matching PVCu beading. The Liniar bead can now be supplied ready-painted with bonding colour, with the same 10 year guarantee – and it’s a game changer for fitters and fabricators.

Why does it matter?

Aluminium beading is rigid and much less flexible than its PVCu counterpart. The flexibility of PVCu beading makes it incredibly easy to install with a simple knock into place with a nylon mallet – cutting down on installation time and making the entire fitting process effortless.

One of the most obvious differences between the two is the co-extruded bubble gasket included in Liniar’s PVCu beading, meaning that unlike an aluminium bead, installers don’t have to install the gasket separately. This patented technology is perfectly weatherproof and provides an additional level of thermal efficiency when compared to the aluminium bead. It also means no visible wedge gaskets, providing a sleek finish.

The bonding process also ensures painted surfaces are less likely to suffer damage than aluminium beading when fitting glazing units, and run-through mitres create a cleaner appearance and slicker joints in the corners too.

While the PVCu bead is proving to be popular with Liniar’s fabrication network, Alumina doors can still be installed with an aluminium bead if preferred – the PVCu bead will be included upon request.
