Smart-Tint the affordable switchable smart glass launched by specialist glass manufacturer Reflex Glass last year, has now received its latest accolade: the Gold medal award from WFI magazine as Top Product 2008.

A delighted Scott Nicholas, Managing Director of Reflex Glass, commented:“Smart-Tint Insulated Glass units are the ultimate not only in privacy control, but also in energy saving, as the switch from clear to opaque glass or back again determines just how much infrared heat enters a room through the windows or roof glass. “Designers, architects, and many of the more discerning homeowners are always looking for that ‘wow factor’.Smart-Tint, with its virtually instantaneous changeover from opaque to clear glass certainly provides just that!

“We were delighted to learn from WFI that the number of enquiries received for Smart-Tint went off the chart, and so the Gold award for Top Product 2008 was a clear-cut result. We have also since heard from Glass Times after Smart-Tint appeared in its on-line bulletin that there was a definite spike in interest.

“What is interesting to us is that the enquiries and interest is coming from the trade level – as far removed from ‘designer poseurs’ and their well-heeled client’s inflated budgets as possible. These enquiries are coming in because ordinary homeowners or commercial enterprises recognise that with Smart-Tint switchable glass is now affordable.”
