The winners of the Scottish Design Awards 2019 were announced at a recent ceremony, celebrating the very best of design and architecture.

As one of the UK’s largest and most innovative fabricators, Sidey was pleased to once again sponsor this prestigious competition.

Now in its 22nd year, the awards are open to architects, engineers, graphic and digital designers and consultants who delivered a relevant project in any of the judged categories.

“We’d like to say a huge congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted for the Scottish Design Awards this year,” says Steve Hardy, Sidey’s Managing Director.

“These awards are now established as one of the best in the country and the quality of competition in each category seems to get even better each year. It showcases the highly impressive range of talent we have when it comes to design in Scotland, particularly in architecture.

“Design is very important to us and the products we manufacture have been used in lots of interesting and exciting projects all over the country. Because we work closely with architects and specifiers, these awards give us a great opportunity to see a superb range of stunning buildings and it’s always interesting to see how windows and doors are utilised in the design.”

The Scottish Design Awards are organised by leading Scottish architecture magazine Urban Realm and judged by two prestigious panels compiled of industry experts. Hosted by Steve McKenna from Real Radio, the awards ceremony took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow and winners were presented with stylish chrome-plated decorative rulers.

“I would like to applaud Sidey for their invaluable support in making the Scottish Design Awards possible,” says Urban Realm Editor, John Glenday. “Without this financial and logistical assistance, the awards would have been so much harder to pull off and a great deal less fun!”
