Saint Gobain Glass starts campaign for solar control glass

Date: 18 August 2007

Increasing requirements of energy saving and climate protection for buildings have led to a clear improvement in the insulation in buildings - also with respect to glass.

However, phenomena like the “Summer of the century in 2003” show that up to now too little attention has been given to thermal insulation in summer. In view of the expected global climate warming, the requirements of summer thermal insulation for buildings will intensify significantly.

Modern solar control glasses offer an affordable solution, to counteract the overheating of buildings. Saint-Gobain Glass Germany is therefore launching an information campaign on the possible applications of solar control glasses.

To mark the start of the campaign, Saint-Gobain Glass has developed a solar control glass presenter. This folder containing samples of the most popular solar control glasses from the SGG SOLAR CONTROL range helps sales managers and the customers to clarify the differences with regard to colour neutrality, reflection colour and coefficient of reflection and to introduce the possible applications of the glasses in windows and façade. In addition, a CD will provide information on the results of an extensive study of the effect of solar control glasses in residential properties and commercial buildings.
