Volunteers and staff head to Capitol Hill to champion glass

The National Glass Association (NGA) will once again gather in Washington, D.C. for Glass & Glazing Advocacy Days, May 13–14, to engage with congressional members and government agency stakeholders on the industry's top policy priorities. Volunteers and staff will meet in small groups with members of Congress to highlight the glass and glazing industry's contributions to the economy, workforce, and human health and safety. NGA's 2026 policy priorities are School Security, Bird-Friendly Glazing, and Workforce Development.

“Glass & Glazing Advocacy Days are a critical opportunity for the glass industry to come together with a unified voice on issues that truly matter; like advancing school security through high-performance glazing solutions, to promoting bird-friendly design that reflects our commitment to sustainability,” says NGA Advocacy Committee Chair Paul Bush, Vitro Architectural Glass. “[Advocacy] directly impacts our communities and our future, demonstrating the essential role our industry plays in safety, innovation and environmental responsibility.”

NGA President and CEO Lakisha A. Woods, CAE, adds, “Advocating for the glass industry in Washington, D.C. isn’t just about policy, it’s about ensuring that we as an industry have a voice in shaping our own future. In 2026, one of our key priorities is workforce development, a critical issue in our industry. Investing in the next generation of skilled workers will directly shape how we innovate and grow. When we meet with lawmakers, we’re not just representing an industry, we’re championing safer communities, more sustainable practices and long-term economic opportunity.”

Registration is required. There is no fee to register, and registration is open to representatives of NGA member companies. Contact Amber Johnson for more information.

Thank you to our hospitality sponsors Vitro, Trulite, Kuraray, and Guardian Glass.
