The Italian Glass Journey showcased the excellence of Italy's glass supply chain, highlighting its innovation, sustainability, and resilience in a rapidly evolving global market.

The glass supply chain represents one of Italy's excellences, a strategic sector that has long been synonymous with innovation, quality and sustainability. The project Italian Glass Journey, organized in September 2024 and promoted by GIMAV e VITRUM, offered a unique opportunity to explore the various players in a sector capable of adapting to changes in the global market and responding to the challenges of the ecological transition.

The four days of the Italian Glass Journey demonstrated how the glass supply chain is made up of an integrated group of companies that are committed to collaborating synergistically: from production to recycling, from machinery to new technologies for sustainable construction, up to the valorization of art and tradition linked to glass.

The common thread of the topics that emerged during the trip is the importance of sustainability. The glass supply chain is taking on an increasingly important role in the construction and technology sectors, thanks to its ability to produce ecological and recyclable solutions, in line with national and European policies for reducing emissions.

The progressive transition towards a greener glass industry is, however, only possible thanks to the collaboration between all segments of the sector, united in an innovation project that requires a participatory approach.
This message emerged with particular clarity during the conference. Building as Green as Glass, one of the flagship events of the Italian Glass Journey. The conference, held on Tuesday 17 September at Fiera Milano Rho, turned the spotlight on sustainable architecture and the strategic role of glass in building an ecologically responsible future.

The Italian Glass Journey favored the creation and consolidation of new connections within the glass supply chain. The companies had the opportunity to discuss the most pressing issues in the sector, sharing knowledge and strategies to address future challenges, with a view to an essential exchange to ensure sustainable growth and strengthen the global competitiveness of the sector.

The event, organized exactly one year after VITRUM25, has given a precious preview of the vision and themes that will be protagonists at the next edition of the international exhibition dedicated to technologies for the glass industry, which will be held from the 16 to the 19 September 2025, at the pavilions 9 and 11 of Fiera Milano Rho.
