At Glasstec, Linda Richert, Senior Manager MarCom, shared insights about the new video podcast, "Trade Talk Today."

She explained how this format keeps trade fair visitors informed about daily highlights and provides exhibitors with an international platform to showcase their innovations.

What is the idea behind the “Trade Talk Today” format?

Trade Talk Today is our new video podcast that we at the MarCom department have produced jointly with the project teams for each trade fair. The underlying idea is very straightforward: in the roughly 15-minute podcast our presenters cover all programme highlights, activities and trade fair events not to be missed and navigate visitors and exhibitors through their trade fair day in a relaxed atmosphere. To this end, we feature various guests in our broadcast who “talk out of school” and speak about exciting trends and current product novelties.

How did the idea for the video podcast come about?

In view of the rapidly rising importance of moving images for marketing we have jointly defined a clear vision: we want to launch new powerful audiovisual formats that are poised to infotain our target group. Over the years we have developed extensive expertise in terms of content thanks to our contacts with the industries, exhibitors and visitors – trade fairs are so much more than trading platforms. We know the innovations and the trends and would like to provide our industry experts and exhibitors with a communication platform in Trade Talk Today so they can contribute their expertise and discuss the most relevant sectoral topics with us in the studio.

Why should glasstec trade fair visitors watch “Trade Talk Today” daily?

Watching Trade Talk Today you are up to date and guaranteed to not miss any trade fair highlights. After all, our aim is to put together a compact feature that provides our target audience with the most important topics related to the current trade fair on a daily basis. At glasstec we cover a whole spectrum of topics that are currently driving the industry: circular economy, decarbonisation, young talent, digital technologies and AI. With this in mind we have enlisted exciting interview partners such as Florian Fürst of “Bundesinnungsverband Glaserhandwerk” (Federal Association of Glazier Trades), Dr. Lisa Rammig, glasstec Director Lars Wismer and other experts and exhibitors.

What is in this format for exhibitors?

Our exhibitors are given the opportunity to book a slot via our Online-Order-System to present their products and innovations in a talk. The podcast will feature on the landing page of glasstec – ensuring enormous reach and exposure. The Talk will be in English for an international audience. Afterwards, each exhibitor will receive their interview as a short clip for sharing it on their own websites and channels. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
