Date: 15 July 2026
With 40 members attending across the golf tournament and Afternoon Tea, the event achieved its highest attendance for several years, bringing together businesses from across the glass and glazing industry for a day of networking, collaboration and friendly competition.
Held during one of the hottest weeks of the year, temperatures reached an incredible 36°C. Despite the conditions, members embraced the day, demonstrating the strong support for GGF networking events and the opportunity they provide to build relationships across the industry.
Networking remains an important part of GGF membership, giving businesses the opportunity to share experiences, discuss common challenges and strengthen professional connections in an informal setting.
Lauren Mawford, Director of the Glass and Glazing Federation, said: "It was fantastic to see so many members come together for our Southeast Networking Event. The attendance reflects the value our members place on building relationships and sharing knowledge with others across the industry.
"Events like these are an important part of the support we provide. They create opportunities for members to connect, exchange ideas and strengthen the relationships that help our industry continue to grow."
The extreme weather made hydration a priority throughout the day, with Darrell Williams and Paul Miller spending much of the afternoon driving around the course in a golf buggy, distributing bottles of water to players and helping everyone stay safe in the heat.
The determination shown by everyone taking part was equally impressive, with golfers completing the course despite the soaring temperatures. Particular praise was given to Kevin Jones' team, who walked the entire course throughout the day.
The afternoon concluded with a prize presentation, recognising some excellent performances and ending another successful GGF member event.
The Federation would also like to recognise the contribution of Ann-marie, whose planning and organisation were instrumental in delivering such a successful day. Her hard work behind the scenes ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish and helped make it one of the GGF's most successful Southeast networking events in recent years.
As the GGF continues to support members through technical guidance, training, industry representation and networking opportunities, regional events remain an important way of bringing businesses together and strengthening the voice of the industry.
