FIT Show’s commercial manager, Rik Henderson and senior commercial executive, Eloise Cormie have just returned from GlassBuild America in Las Vegas, gaining valuable insight into one of North America’s leading events for the glass, window and door industries.
Held from 23–25 September at the Las Vegas Convention Center, GlassBuild America brought together more than 500 exhibitors from across the commercial and residential glass, window and door sectors.
The visit provided an opportunity for the FIT Show team to experience the event, understand how the US market is evolving and explore the ideas, content and visitor experiences that could inform FIT Show 2027.
Alongside the exhibition floor, GlassBuild America featured an Innovation Lounge, seminar programme, skills-focused activities and an industry hub delivered by the National Glass Association. The event also included activity designed to introduce students to careers in the glass and glazing sector, reflecting the shared challenge of attracting new talent into the industry.
For FIT Show, the visit forms part of the team’s continued commitment to understanding international markets and strengthening relationships across the global supply chain. It also supports the show’s international growth plans as preparations for FIT Show 2027 gather pace.
Rik and Eloise met with a range of international businesses during the visit, including existing FIT Show connections and companies exploring opportunities in the UK market. These conversations will continue over the coming weeks as the team develops relationships and introduces more businesses to the opportunities available at FIT Show.
FIT Show commercial manager, Rik Henderson comments: “GlassBuild America was a valuable opportunity for us to see how another major industry event brings together commercial and residential markets, while also exploring new ideas around content, skills and visitor engagement. The visit has given us plenty to consider as we continue developing FIT Show 2027 and building connections with businesses from across the international supply chain.”
The visit also highlighted the importance of creating an event that combines commercial opportunity with practical education, industry insight and meaningful connections - priorities that remain central to FIT Show’s approach.
FIT Show 2027 will return to the NEC Birmingham from 18–20 May 2027, bringing together installers, fabricators, manufacturers, suppliers, specifiers and industry organisations from across the fenestration supply chain.
As the FIT Show campaign continues to build momentum, the team’s international engagement will help ensure that the 2027 event reflects the breadth, innovation and global reach of the market it serves.
