DuPont Safety Resources in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region recently announced five winners of the 2009 DuPont Safety Awards.

Now in their eighth year, these awards recognize companies and organizations that have taken outstanding initiatives to enhance workplace safety. 2009 DuPont Safety Award recipients.Ranging from large global corporations to small government-funded organizations, the 2009 recipients represent diverse interests and industries spanning consumer goods, utilities, manufacturing and public transportation. Despite their differences, one common message echoed throughout all the winning projects – the importance of making workplace safety a personal value for each and every employee. “The recipients of the 2009 DuPont Safety Awards recognize that growth-oriented companies have not taken their focus off safety, health and environment matters – a testament that safety is a business value and catalyst for growth,” said Koen van Neyghen, regional leader - Safety Resources, EMEA, at the award ceremony. This year’s awards were presented to:  *Danone Waters (France) for Performance Improvement *British Sugar (UK) for Innovative Approach *London Underground Limited (LUL) (UK) for Visible Management Commitment *Borealis AG (Austria) for Sustainable Business Impact *Egyptian LNG (Egypt) for Cultural Evolution The Eskom Hendrina Power Station in South Africa received an honorable mention.
