Katerra, Inc., a technology company redefining the construction industry, has selected Deceuninck North America as its window and patio door systems supply partner.

Founded in 2015, Katerra applies tested systems approaches of industrialized global industries to bring greater efficiency to building design and construction. Katerra combines expertise in architecture, engineering, design, material sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, technology and construction to provide a single integrated offering.

Its panelized approach to construction offers a flexible and customizable design portfolio of building components and assemblies for a growing number of markets including multifamily, senior living, student housing, masterplan development, commercial, hospitality, education, industrial, and retail.

“Katerra’s entire macro approach to the building process – treating it like the electronics supply chain – is hugely innovative and has never been tried before,” said Trevor Schick, head of construction, renovations and supply chain for Katerra. “Katerra is integrating previously siloed building processes to deliver value end-to-end. Direct relationships with suppliers, such as Deceuninck, enables us to achieve our vision.”

Katerra is utilizing one of Deceuninck’s integrated family of single slider, sideload single hung, picture, casement and fixed casement windows. The system’s array of mullions, astragals and transoms allow a wide range of continuous frame or mulled combination units, designed to perform to the rigors of light commercial mid-story construction.

“This agreement further solidifies Deceuninck’s industry-leading position as an innovator and collaborator that provides custom-focused solutions to produce a signature style and design for our customers,” said Filip Geeraert, CEO, Deceuninck North America. “With our collective expertise, we are designing high-performance window systems that capture the best of engineered performance and real-world success.”
