Cugher Glass has completed the installation of screen printing lines at the new factory of Pittsburgh Glass Works (PGW) in Komorniki, Poland, which have been especially designed with PGW for the production of windshields for prestigious Daimler Mercedes cars.

Thanks to the technology, precision and automation, these lines represent the highest level of Cugher Glass’ engineering. The lines have been developed based on Cugher Glass’ Series G 130x200 screen printers, the top of the range for speed and precision, equipped with “Edge to Edge” system. The automation applied to these lines enables to carry out production changeovers in just a few minutes, also including the change of screens, application of new production recipes and “switch” of the line on the new model, changing parameters of the cutting and grinding line, up to the bending furnace, by means of an integrated system."Arial">PGW chose Cugher Glass as its technology partner for the screen printing sector, thanks to the Italian company’s capacity to design and start up complex screen printing lines, using proprietary technologies and ablity to perfectly integrate numerous players involved in the manufacturing chain.

The Series G screen printing machines chosen for the glassworks in Poland can be equipped with systems that carry out automatic screen registration in just a few seconds, printing right up to the edges of the glass, and automatic centring of out-of-square glass shapes. New automatic printing control systems have also been introduced, able to dialogue with the machine, so as to correct possible errors and to guarantee total uniformity of the amount of the ink deposited.

Cugher Glass’ R&D department collaborates actively with its clients, to develop products responding to the ever more demanding production requests from today’s market.
