UV Verre Premium(TM) to be installed in Fuji Heavy Industries' Subaru Impreza as an option

Tokyo, November 30, 2011 - AGC (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.; Head Office: Tokyo; President & CEO: Kazuhiko Ishimura) is pleased to announce that UV Verre PremiumTM is to be installed in Fuji Heavy Industries' Subaru Impreza as an option.

UV Verre Premium*1 is the world's first*2 tempered glass for automotive front door windows which successfully filters out approximately 99%*3 of the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. Amid consumers' increasing awareness about UV protection, UV Verre Premium was included in Subaru Impreza's options that help make driving the car a more comfortable experience.



Subaru Impreza is a stylish, sporty and upscale compact car and is popular among a wide range of drivers. Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. has made a full model change of the car, aiming to achieve a stylish exterior and luxurious interior. In developing this vehicle line, Fuji Heavy Industries has considered drivers' lifestyles and values, and adopted UV Verre Premium as an option to respond to in the consumer's recent concerns about UV protection. UV Verre Premium filters out the sun's UV rays completely, making it equivalent to wearing sun gloves. Thus, it will help to make the drivers more comfortable.
