From Rubielos de Mora, a small town in Teruel, TUROMAS has been manufacturing intelligent machinery for cutting, loading and storing flat glass for more than four decades.

We do it with the same passion with which we started, but with our eyes always on the future. And that future, beyond machines, is built by people. That is why, for years, at TUROMAS we have been committed to opening our doors to young people in training. Because we believe in talent, in opportunities and in the importance of building bridges between the classroom and the company.

A relationship that started with a chat

It all started with something as simple as a talk at a secondary school. It was at IES Segundo de Chomón, in Teruel, where we found some training cycles that fitted in perfectly with our activity: Electromechanical Maintenance, Electrical Installations, Automation and Robotics… And the most important thing: a committed teaching staff and eager students.

That first meeting made us see the obvious: there were boys and girls with a lot of potential who did not know that, a few kilometres from home, there was a company like ours. A cutting-edge, technological company with international projection, which could be their place for the future. Since then, we decided that it could not be just a talk. That we had to be present, that we had to get involved.

Over time, the network grew. IES Chomón was joined by IES Vega del Turia, from where we have already welcomed students on internships in International Trade and Administrative Management. And soon we will also start collaborating with IES Francés de Aranda.

This has allowed us to get to know very different profiles, to get out of the technical area and also to open up to areas such as logistics, purchasing or commercial management. Because in a company like ours there is much more than just machines: there are people organising, planning, communicating… And all these gears are equally important.

When internships become work

One of the greatest satisfactions of all this journey is to see how internships become something more. In recent years, several students who started with us as part of their training, are now part of the TUROMAS team.

Hosam, Fran, Javier, Hamid, Héctor, Raúl, Adrián, Miguel Ángel, Any, Sergio, Teresa… These are names that ring out every day in the offices, in the production halls, in the meetings. People who found an opportunity here and knew how to make the most of it. And people who, thanks to that first experience, decided to stay, grow and become part of this story.

Today we have two students on work experience at TUROMAS: Pilar Galván, in FP Dual, and David Igual.

‘An important part of applying what I have learnt in my studies is to complement it with good training in a real company. This is where I can gain confidence, show what I am worth and start my professional career’.

Pilar Galván, Production department - monolithic line.

We talked to people like Adrián Zaharia, Francisco Vidal and Teresa Salvador, who started their journey at TUROMAS as trainees and are now part of the team:

Francisco Vidal

‘I studied the higher degree in robotics and industrial automation at the íes segundo de chomon (Teruel) and as a result of this I had the opportunity to apply what I had studied. The internship was my first contact with the world of work, and it helped me to confirm that this is what I like. Being able to continue in the company afterwards has been a great opportunity to continue learning and growing’.

Francisco Vidal, Production department - laminar line.

Teresa Salvador

‘I studied Transport and Logistics, and then I specialised in International Trade. I had the opportunity to do my internship in International Trade at Turomas, S.L., starting in April 2024 and finishing in June of the same year. During those three months, I was able to put into practice what I had studied and to get more training thanks to the experience of my colleagues.
At the end of the internship, they gave me the opportunity to stay and work with them. Currently, I am part of the after-sales department, where I am very happy with the decision I made to do my internship here’.

Teresa Salvador, After Sales Department

Adrian

‘I studied the Intermediate Degree in Microcomputer Systems and Networks and the Advanced Degree in Multiplatform Applications Development at IES Segundo de Chomón in Teruel. I chose to do the internship at Turomas because I was attracted by its focus on industrial machinery projects, which I found more interesting than the office options. The internship lasted three months and was very positive, as I learned a lot about the scope of my work and met professionals who motivated me to continue in this sector. Thanks to this experience, I am now part of the TUROMAS team’.

Adrian Zaharia, IT Department.

Looking to the future

At TUROMAS we believe that continuing to forge closer ties with vocational training centres is key to strengthening the industrial fabric of the province. Encouraging the reception of trainees not only benefits students, who gain experience and increase their employability, but also companies, which can incorporate young talent with up-to-date training and great motivation.

For this reason, we want to continue expanding our network of collaboration with educational centres beyond the city of Teruel, opening the doors to young people from other regions who may be willing to move to work in Rubielos de Mora. We also seek to actively participate in projects that link business and training, collaborate with industry associations and attend events such as trade fairs, where we can continue to publicise our activity and our job opportunities.

In short, TUROMAS is not only committed to technology and innovation. It is also committed to people. Because we know that the future of the company – and of the region – depends on attracting, training and caring for young talent.
