From June 4 to 5, the 2026 "Six-Zero Green Building Materials Day" Open House event took place at the NorthGlass High-End Equipment Industrial Park.

Organized by China Building Materials magazine, the event brought together more than 20 journalists from national and local media outlets, along with experts and scholars from the China Building Materials Federation, China Building Material Test & Certification Group (CTC), the China Construction Metal Structure Association, and the Luoyang Glass Industry Association. They gathered at NorthGlass to explore the green transformation achievements of this high-end equipment manufacturing base. Gao Xueming, Chairman of NorthGlass, and the company's management team warmly welcomed the delegation.

On the afternoon of June 4, the journalists and industry representatives toured the NorthGlass High-End Equipment Industrial Park. Covering an area of 510 mu (approximately 34 hectares) and featuring 120,000 square meters of green space, the garden-style park challenges traditional perceptions of equipment manufacturing facilities. The office building's curtain wall is composed of 19 giant insulated glass units made from coated and laminated glass, each measuring 18.3 meters in height and weighing 8.8 tons. Using its own independently developed high-end equipment, NorthGlass has supplied curtain wall glass for numerous landmark buildings around the world, and the office building itself serves as a striking example of this capability.

On the morning of June 5, the delegation visited NorthGlass's Triturbo Fan Business Unit and the Luoyang base of its Glass Deep Processing Business Unit. At the Triturbo Fan BU's R&D center, journalists toured the testing facility, which has been accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), qualifying it as a nationally recognized laboratory. At the Glass Deep Processing BU, visitors observed the automated production line system, which covers the entire processing chain, including intelligent glass warehousing, cutting, edging, and sheet sorting. This system is a key component of NorthGlass's integrated "Glass Deep Processing Smart Factory" solution.

During the technical presentation session, leaders from various NorthGlass business units explained how their core products support China's national "dual carbon" strategy. Technologies in the glass processing equipment sector—including tempering furnaces, Low-E coating lines, automated production lines, and Triturbo fans—continue to evolve through innovation, delivering significant improvements in energy efficiency and energy-saving upgrades. In terms of glass products, NorthGlass's high-end curtain wall glass, featuring extra-large dimensions, complex curved surfaces, and advanced coating technologies, combines architectural aesthetics with substantial reductions in building energy consumption. Products such as cast glass and light stone are manufactured using fully electric kiln technologies developed by NorthGlass's High-Temperature Electric Kiln Business Unit, achieving low energy consumption and zero-carbon emissions—an excellent example of green building materials in practice.

During discussions with the journalists, NorthGlass shared its core philosophy on innovation and sustainability. Innovation is deeply embedded in the company's culture, encouraging technical teams to explore new ideas and approaches, while dedication and hard work remain the foundation of meaningful innovation. The company emphasized that only through sustained effort can the benefits of innovation truly be realized.

Regarding its sustainability strategy, NorthGlass explained that green principles are integrated into the fundamental design philosophy of each business unit. The company believes that simply creating high-quality products is already a contribution to energy conservation. With its expertise in manufacturing advanced equipment, NorthGlass has also developed the capability to produce world-class glass products. Guided by this vision, the company has built a complete industrial structure spanning both high-end equipment and high-end architectural glass, creating a unique development model described as "one industry, driven by both equipment and glass."

One journalist remarked after the visit, "NorthGlass's continuous investment in research and development, combined with its focus on the high-end market, demonstrates that sustainability is not a cost, but a competitive advantage." Another journalist highlighted the fact that NorthGlass's tempering furnaces are exported to more than 110 countries and regions, including nearly all major developed economies and close to 80% of countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. This achievement reflects the growing ability of Chinese manufacturing technology to serve global markets.

"Six-Zero" represents not only a vision but also a call to action. Over the past 30 years, NorthGlass has evolved from manufacturing China's first horizontal roller-hearth flat and bent glass tempering furnace into a global supplier of high-end equipment and glass products, helping drive the development of China's glass processing industry. Looking ahead, NorthGlass will continue to use innovation as its driving force, enabling "Intelligent Manufacturing by NorthGlass" to play an even greater role in the green and low-carbon transformation of the building materials industry. As it advances toward carbon neutrality, NorthGlass views its first 30 years not as a destination, but as a new starting point for the journey ahead alongside media partners, customers, and industry stakeholders.
