A new Managing Director has been appointed for Uniglass Engineering, a Kyro subsidiary belonging to its Glaston Technologies business area.

Glass flat tempering machine manufacturer Uniglass' Research and Development Director, M.Sc. (Eng) Jukka Vehmas, 45, has been made the new Managing Director.

Vehmas is one of Uniglass' founders and has held several positions within the company for a total of over ten years. Vehmas accepts the new challenges with technology as well as customer working as his priorities.

- My objective is to improve our already strong market position with customer orientated Uniglass technology and increase customer satisfaction, he says.

Vehmas starts as Managing Director of Uniglass on 1 March 2007, and reports to Kyro Group President & CEO Mika Seitovirta. Petri Mölsä, who held the position before Vehmas for some five years, starts his employment with another company at the beginning of April.

The Ylöjärvi-based Uniglass, part of Glaston Technologies, is a machine manufacturer specialized in flat tempering machinery. The company's main markets are in the United States, Middle East and Europe, where it is the second biggest manufacturer in the industry after Tamglass. Kyro acquired Uniglass in 2002.
