Anniversary campaign for SOLARBAN glass, new educational video series recognized – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) announced that its flat glass business has earned two 2015 B2 Awards of Excellence from the national Business Marketing Association (BMA) in the Marketing Activation and Video categories.

PPG’s marketing campaign celebrating the 50th anniversary of SOLARBAN(R) glass earned honors in the “Marketing Activation: Existing Customer Retention and Growth” division.The campaign featured a website developed to document a half-century of historical and technological advances associated with Solarban glass, supplemented by integrated print and online advertising, social-media efforts and trade-media relations. The Pipitone Group and Yearick-Millea, two Pittsburgh-based marketing communications firms, also were recognized for their work on the campaign, which was designed to enhance loyalty to Solarban glass among architects, glazing contractors and glass fabricators.

PPG also earned honors in the “Video Production, Over 5:00 (Five Minutes)” division for its new series of “Glenn the Glass Guy” consumer-oriented videos, in which an actor-portrayed PPG expert explains the science of glass performance in residential windows. Produced by the Pipitone Group, the specific videos recognized by BMA illustrate the performance advantages of stainless steel INTERCEPT(R) spacers by PPG compared to foam-based spacer systems.

The BMA B2 Awards recognize and honor the most prestigious business marketers in the field for customer marketing strategy, integrated internal and external marketing communications strategy, innovative global brand strategy, e-business strategy, new media strategy, and successful new product and service introductions.
