PPG lifts Fresno glass manufacturing force majeure, will invest $20 million in 2016 for facility enhancements

PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today announced that it has restored normal operations at its Fresno, California, glass manufacturing facility and lifted the force majeure on architectural, residential and specialty glass products for customers located in the western U.

S and western Canada.   The company also announced plans to invest $20 million in upgrades for the Fresno facility, which will begin in January 2016.PPG plans to rebuild the glass tank and enhance other manufacturing equipment at the plant. The investment will upgrade equipment to meet continued demand for PPG flat glass products manufactured at the facility.



“We are pleased today to resume production at the Fresno facility and look forward to once again supplying our flat glass to meet customer demand in the western U.S. and western Canada," said Richard Beuke, PPG vice president, flat glass. “As we look ahead, our planned investments at the Fresno facility will help to further enhance our production capabilities to meet our customers’ needs in the future.”
