DOE collaboration, Glass & Glazing Advocacy Days, and laminating best practices top the agenda

About 100 technical and advocacy leaders in glass are gathered in South Carolina this week for the NGA Glass Conference: Isle of Palms | Charleston. The event runs through Feb. 8, and includes meetings for the NGA Advocacy, Fabricating and Forming Committees.

Other highlights include a comprehensive look at new codes and standards, an update on U.S. Department of Energy Collaborations and a panel discussion on spandrel glass. The conference also includes a planning and practice session for the NGA’s third annual Glass & Glazing Advocacy Days, scheduled for May 14-15 in Washington, D.C.

Closing out the NGA Glass Conference will be a Laminating Workshop: Past, Present and Future of Laminated Glass Qualification. Recent changes to the Safety Glazing Certification Council laminated glass certification requirements will lead to an evolution in the nomenclature and shorthand used for describing and specifying laminated glass units. Attendees will gain a brief overview of laminated glass applications and how they relate to safety glazing.
