The Forum on Translucent Structures. Windows, Facades, Doors, which opens today, is a central event of the event programme of the Mir Stekla 2021.

The forum is organised by the Committee on Entrepreneurship in the Construction Sector of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian Union of Designers, the Standardization and Conformity Assessment of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the National Association of Construction Industry Participants, the Glass Union, and EXPOCENTRE AO.

Experts put emphasis on translucent structures

Nikolay Gavrilov-Kremichev, editor-in-chief of the Sovremennye Stroitelnye Konstruktsii information and publishing center, focused on the analysis of the market of translucent structures at the plenary session. In his words, the development of the Russian market of translucent structures and the entire building industry in 2021-2024 will be determined by the status of the national economy and its capacity to withstand the global crisis. Chances to increase the scope of housing construction in 2021 are slim, the expert said, noting that the construction of commercial properties, first and foremost offices and shopping malls, would continue to shrink. 

General Director of the Union of Polymer Profile Manufacturers Sergey Rusin dwelt on trends unfolding on the window market. 

Experts put emphasis on translucent structures

Moscow Export Center specialist Andrey Molotilov spoke about instruments of anti-crisis support for exporting companies using the example of Moscow. 

The forum also included a discussion session on the industry and safety of translucent structures, relevant issues of the glass market. Waste management and recycling of translucent structures.

The participants discussed safety requirements to the glazing of buildings with due account of risks of emergency situations, capacities of Russian manufacturers of fire-resistant translucent structures, new requirements to easily removable window structures, recycling of building glass waste, problems of counterfeit products on the insulating glass market, and a lot of other issues.
