McCune Solar Works plans to assume Schott facility's production

Activity could resume next year at the former Schott Solar facility.On Monday, McCune Solar Works LLC, a McCune Works Inc. company, said it is in final negotiations to assume the production of the solar panels Schott Solar was making at its facility in Mesa del Sol.

The company said it plans to employ 130, including former Schott workers. It plans to ramp up production to begin in the third quarter of 2013 and selling solar panels under the name Hott Solar.

Schott Solar announced in June that it would close and lay off its roughly 200 employees in the city.
