Deceuninck is one of the first PVC-U systems companies in the UK to gain the VinylPlus® Product Label for sustainability following a successful audit by BRE (Building Research Establishment).

The new VinylPlus® Product Label is a labelling scheme designed to make it easier for customers and markets to choose the most sustainable, high performance PVC products. The scheme covers the building and construction sector and audits companies on stringent criteria including responsible sourcing of PVC resin and additives, controlled loop management and recycling, sustainable energy policies, organisational and supply chain management requirements.

Commenting on the certification, Rob McGlennon, Deceuninck UK Managing Director said: “The VinylPlus® Product Label fits perfectly with our mission of ‘building a sustainable home’. It’s a serious ‘plus’ for customers because it guarantees Deceuninck products are truly sustainable. Importantly, the scheme also shows that PVC is a sustainable and future-proof building material for the building and construction industry.”

The new VinylPlus® sustainability mark has been developed by VinylPlus®, the Voluntary Commitment to sustainable development by the European PVC industry, in collaboration with BRE and TNS (The Natural Step). It aims to create a long-term sustainability framework for the entire PVC value chain across Europe and beyond.
