Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. will become “AGC Inc.”!

Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.(the Company) hereby announces that, at the Board of Directors meeting held on August 1, 2017, its Board of Directors resolved the change of the Company’s corporate name as described below. This corporate name change is subject to the approval of a partial amendment of the Company’ s Articles of In corporation at the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held late March 2018. The details of the partial amendment of the Articles of In corporation will be announced upon the resolution of the Board of Directors.

1.Reason for the change

The Company launched the global, integrated management of the AGC Group in 2002. When it marked its 100thanniversary in 2007, the Company unifi ed its group brand as “AGC” and its consolidated subsidiaries changed their corporate name's to incorporate AGC in their legal names.

And this year, on its 110th anniversary, the Company decided to change the corporate name of Asahi Glass Company, which plays the central role of the AGC Group, to AGC Inc. in order to further enhance the integrated management framework for the AGC Group on a global scale.

The AGC Group has been engaged in various businesses in the field of glass, electronics, chemicals and ceramics, and has established the world’s top-class technologies.

As AGC embarks on the next 100 years of its journey, it will continue supplying its unique materials and solutions and make “AGC” to be a global brand trusted by all stakeholders around the world.
