AGC to Start Labor-management Consultations with European Subsidiary’s Plant

AGC (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.; Head Office: Tokyo; President & CEO: Kazuhiko Ishimura) announces that, on February 10, 2014, it will start talks with the Works Council and union organizations of the Roux Plant, which employs190 people, about the termination of production of photovoltaic cover glass at the plant, which is run by AGC’s consolidated subsidiary, AGC Glass Europe S.A. in Belgium.   The financial impact of this decision on AGC’s financial results is yet to be seen.

AGC will make announcement as soon as the impact has become determined.
