Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.On the 30th of April 2009, AGC Automotive, the automotive glass division of AGC (Asahi Glass Co.,Ltd., Head Office: Tokyo, President & COO: Kazuhiko Ishimura), and Daimler AG signed a long-term agreement on the development and supply of automotive glazing.

Under the multi-year contract, AGC will supply automotive glazing for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and SUVs to be manufactured in Europe and in the USA. AGC is one of the first strategic suppliers to be nominated under Daimler’s new purchasing policy.
 
This agreement underlines the prolongation of the existing partnership between the two companies. AGC, the world’s largest glass manufacturer, differentiated itself in terms of quality, service, development and technology and was therefore selected by Daimler as being the preferred global partner to support the development of its future models.
 
With this contract, based on a new sourcing strategy, AGC and Daimler are building the foundations of a successful long-term relationship. As a global automotive glazing supplier, AGC Automotive will continue to provide high quality products and services to its customers to support its customers’ development, production and sales activities.
