Recently I was in France and saw an artist using glass that it appeared that he would break off from a larger chunk - much like a sculptor. I have also seen other artists in the US use this and I am wondering where I can find out about this for use in my own projects.

Does anyone know if there is an industry standard for a clearance under the bottom
rail of a glass door. The door, of course must have clearance to open and close but
is there a maximum that the clearance can be. Should the clearance be minimal so
as to prevent someone from catching their foot under the door when it is actively
being opened.

I need help on finding standards of scratched glass.
What scratches are acceptable? Should a contractor be responsible for replacing glass with any visible scratches? At what minimum distance should a scratch be seen for it to be considered for replacement? Where could I find such information? Please reply if you have any information.

Hi, I have recently visited South Africa and have seen red and purple glasses - tumblers and champage glasses. They appear to be glass, not crystal, and appeared etched, but did not feel etched. They retailed at circa ZAR100 (approx US$9) per glass. I was hoping someeone is able to direct me to the exporter / manufacturer of this product as i am UK based. Has anyone ever etched glass (fused silica)optical fibers to reduce the diameter? If so could you please explain the process.
