Shutdown in US delays Ardagh Glass judgement

ARDAGH Glass has been caught up in the US government shut down. Paul Coulson's company will now have to wait for a judgement in the US on the company's planned merger with a US unit of France's Saint-Gobain.

US government lawyers won a delay in the contested merger case which was scheduled to begin in Washington on October 17.Judge Barbara Rothstein said the sides would need to submit a new proposed schedule if and when the government reopens.
