The quality of the Bystronic glass compact’line convincesPreviously, the work that took place in the hall measuring 20,000m2 at Xiehua Glass Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China was primarily characterised by manual production supported by simple machine technology.

However, since summer 2010, the medium-sized glass processor has been working with the compact’line, the entry solution for automatic insulating glass production from Bystronic glass. "With the compact’line we have obtained Bystronic glass quality and all of its added values at a reasonable price", explains WuJi Wang, production planner at Xiehua Glass.

In addition to the low capital costs, features of the line include the compact plant layout, diverse expansion possibilities as well as a smooth material flow that ensures optimal results. WuJi Wang is particularly impressed by the press used for the assembly of the insulating glass units: "The design of the press plates cannot be compared with any other machine", he explains. As well as the press, the compact’line belonging to Xiehua Glass consists of a compact glass plate washing machine for the continuous cleaning and drying of diverse sizes of glass plates as well as a station for the visual monitoring of the cleaned glass plates and for the subsequent positioning of the spacer frames.

On average, the company produces 1200 square metres of insulating glass per day on the compact’line. As he emphasises, WuJi Wang is extremely satisfied with the line that enables him to supply his customers with insulating glass units of a consistently high quality. The main consumers of these units in rectangular formats are Chinese facade constructors but customers from Dubai, Russia and South Africa also purchase from Xiehua. However, WuJi Wang is not only impressed by the machines themselves and the end products that are produced using them: "The service provided by Bystronic glass leaves nothing to be desired", explains the production planner.

European precision in China

Thanks to his previous activities in the glass sector, WuJi Wang had already been aware of Bystronic glass – as a provider of machines with completely reliable technology – for many years. However, it was only in 2009 that he became aware of the compact’line as a basis solution for the production of insulating glass and found out that Xiehua Glass could also afford the Swiss-German machine technology. However, the line was not produced for Xiehua Glass in Europe, but close to their current location – at the Bystronic glass production location in Shanghai, China. The machines manufactured at this location are produced according to the same quality standards in all of the European Bystronic glass Technology Centers. "I would have no hesitation in once again purchasing from Bystronic glass", explains the Xiehua Glass production planner as a result and is already toying with the idea of next investing in a cutting table.
