Ripple Glass Seeks Glass from Iowa City

Glass recycler hopes to step in and take recyclable glass generated in Sioux City, Iowa.     The glass recycling firm Ripple Glass, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., hopes to alleviate a problem that has bedeviled many cities running single-stream programs: the challenges of adding glass to the mix.

The city of Sioux City, Iowa, has been confronted by the challenge of keeping glass in its curbside collection program. The hauler, Gill Hauling, who has been contracted to collect the glass, along with other recyclables, has voiced concern that the value of the glass has declined to a level that has no perceived value in keeping it a part of the mix.
