PPG Industries has named Mauro Eiras as general manager, architectural coatings, Latin America, to help expand its architectural coatings business in Latin America.

Eiras will direct a new organization formed by PPG’s recent acquisition of the Renner Sayerlack architectural and industrial coatings business in Gravatai, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; and Montevideo, Uruguay.

“Eiras significantly contributed to PPG’s improved industrial coatings performance in Latin America,” said J. Rich Alexander, senior vice president, coatings, for PPG. “I’m confident that his leadership will similarly benefit our architectural business.”

Eiras joined PPG in 1999 and has degrees in chemistry and chemistry engineering from Faculdade Oswaldo Cruz. He also has a specialization in marketing management at the Fundação Getulio Vargas.
