After four years of hard work, Pilkington’s North American manufacturing operations have achieved ISO 14001 certification as a continent-wide, integrated system.

ISO 14001 is a worldwide standard for developing environmental management systems, and to earn certification requires total commitment to continuous improvement of those areas of a business related to protecting the environment.

“The environmental management system encourages proactive rather than reactive management of environmental issues,” explained senior environmental engineer Pam Rygalski. “It provides a mechanism for tracking and improving our environmental performance, and establishes environmental responsibility and accountability for all personnel who have the potential to impact the environment through their work activities.”
