Pilkington MirroView™, the glass which transforms a display screen into a mirror and back again, has won one of the Architectural Record magazine's Record Products Awards 2014.

The newest version of the innovative glass, Pilkington MirroView™ 50/50, won the Walls category of the Finishes and Surfacing section, which covers interior cladding and panels.Designed to cover digital displays and video screens, Pilkington MirroView™ is highly reflective and looks like a normal mirror when the screen is switched off but allows the image to show through when it is switched on.

Pilkington MirroView™ 50/50, launched in 2014, offers 50 percent visible light transmission and 50 percent reflectivity, making it particularly suitable for areas with high ambient light, such as stores or hotel lobbies.

Architectural Record, founded in 1891, is one of the most prestigious publications for the architecture and design industry. Products submitted for the magazine's annual awards are judged on a range of criteria from innovation to aesthetics by a panel of expert judges who specialize in products and specification.

"This is the first time that we have received an award from Architectural Record and we are delighted to have won," said Marketing Communications Specialist Sharon Urban.

"It is a significant mark of recognition by the architects and specifiers who use our products."
