Pilkington may reverse layoffs

If a statement sent to the Laurinburg Exchange Wednesday via its website is accurate, the Pilkington plant may have delayed a decision to lay off 75 people.

On a form to submit news online, officials with the glass plant appeared to be announcing a postponement of a decision announced in July that the company  would idle a production line at the Laurinburg facility.The statement suggested  that the plant would add — at least temporarily — 125 workers.
