Nippon Sheet Glass Sees yr to March 2007 Net Profit of 30 Bln Yen

Nippon Sheet Glass Co expects to post a nearly fourfold rise in net profit of 30 bln yen for the year to March 2007, benefiting from contributions from UK glass maker, Pilkington PLC.

In the previous fiscal year, Nippon Sheet posted net profit of 7.8 bln yen

The world's second-largest sheet glass maker completed its 2.2 bln stg acquisition of Pilkington in mid-June

Nippon Sheet now expects to post current profit of 25 bln yen, operating profit of 35 bln yen and revenue of 680 bln yen for the current fiscal term. In the previous year it raked in current profit of 10.4 bln yen, operating profit of 8.4 bln yen and revenue of 265.9 bln yen.
