New GlassBuddy® Generation

Date: 24 July 2013

Bohle launches the new generation of their successful measuring device, GlassBuddy®, the all-rounder for precise analysis of flat glass.

The handy device quickly and reliably provides you with detailed information about the measured glass compound, which was previously only possible via complex measurements and calculations.Apart from the glass thickness and the gap size between panes, the device is also able to indicate the position of Low-E coatings. Moreover, the GlassBuddy® detects interlayers and determines their position and location within the glass compound. A new, larger display now shows the measuring results graphically. All measured results can be conveniently transferred from the device memory to a computer. In the software, the measured results are clearly displayed together with date and time of the measurement, the corresponding glass thickness and all other measurement details of the glass compound. Futhermore you can add individual comments for each measurement.

Two versions with different ranges of functions

The new device is available in two different versions: GlassBuddy® Basic and GlassBuddy® Plus. The Basic version already covers very many types of applications ranging from monolithic glass, all kinds of laminated glass, up to 1 and 2 gap insulating glass. This device has a measuring range of 50 mm. Apart from this, GlassBuddy® Plus additionally measures other types of glass compounds, such as fire protection glass. This version is capable of measuring glass compounds of up to 100 mm. An upgrade of your device from "Basic" to "Plus" version is possible anytime via a software update.

Intuitive operation and measurements within seconds

Despite the numerous functions of the GlassBuddy® only a few keys are needed. The user interface is intuitive and can be learned quickly and easily.

After choosing the desired mode, the GlassBuddy® is simply positioned on the glass surface. The measuring procedure is initiated by pressing the Start key. After a few seconds, the measured results are shown on the display and are moreover displayed graphically for easy control of measurements. Up to 99 measuring results can be saved to the internal memory of the GlassBuddy®. Also comparative measurements can be carried out: An average value is calculated from several measurements and displayed as result. This function is especially useful for large insulating glass panes where measuring results usually deviate at the four corners.

The GlassBuddy® is delivered in a practical carrying case which, apart from the device itself, also includes a micro USB cable for data transfer, a short instruction manual, a USB stick with administrative software and detailed operating instructions.
