NGA and NCCER, the National Center for Construction Education and Research, have signed an agreement for NCCER to endorse and promote the NGA Glazier Apprentice Curriculum.

Beginning fall 2021, students who complete the curriculum will earn a jointly endorsed NGA/NCCER credential indicating a journeyman-level minimum competency reached through knowledge and performance.

NGA Glazier Apprentice Curriculum was developed for organizations and companies that want to establish a glazier apprenticeship program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. The curriculum offers 430+ hours of education to meet the classroom learning requirement of most three-year apprenticeship programs and includes online courses, manuals and OSHA 30 certification.

“NCCER is proud to partner with NGA to further the training of glazing professionals,” states NCCER President & CEO, Boyd Worsham. “The NGA Glazier Apprentice Curriculum is a comprehensive training program that will help elevate the glazing trade by expanding its skilled workforce.”

With NCCER’s endorsement, completion of the NGA Glazier Apprentice Curriculum will lead to the jointly endorsed training credential in the NCCER Registry System and include an apprentice transcript, certificates for each successfully completed test and digital credentials upon program completion. The credential will be available this fall.

“NGA is excited to partner with NCCER,” says NGA President & CEO, Nicole Harris. “They have a stellar reputation for their commitment to workforce development and our partnership will help advance awareness for careers in the glazing trade.”
