Unicel Architectural, the award-winning manufacturer of vision and daylight control solutions, today announced the installation of its Vision Control® insulating glass units (IGUs) with integrated cord-free louvers as part of a new patient wing in the Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.

The Community Hospital provides advanced care to the residents of southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas.“The Community Hospital stands out for its warm and inviting patient rooms that make tranquility a top priority,” said Jean-François Couturier, CEO of Unicel. “We are pleased to be a part of this project that takes all elements of patient care to a whole new level of excellence. From interior design finishes that mirror the natural colors of southwest Nebraska to more nurse-friendly working stations, HDR Architecture considered every detail to ensure an optimal patient and recovery environment.”

Community Hospital recently opened its 25-bed patient wing with all-private patient rooms. The new wing is Phase 1 of a $21 million two-phase construction project. HDR Architecture, Inc. of Omaha, Nebraska, selected Unicel’s Vision Control® hermetically-sealed glass units to ensure adjustable privacy in patient rooms and nursing stations. Over 30 interior windows and multiple doors feature Vision Control® units in white with aluminum thumbwheel operators.

Vision Control® is HIPAA-compliant and a winner of The Architects’ Choice Award from the National Symposium on Healthcare Design.
