The International Window Film Association (IWFA) announces an important leadership transition as longtime Executive Director Darrell Smith prepares to retire after 30 years of leading the organization and a combined 55 years in the window film industry.
Under Smith’s leadership, IWFA has grown into a recognized voice and trusted resource for the industry. His work as an industry advocate, paired with his deep industry knowledge and commitment to advancing the organization will benefit IWFA for years to come.
“Our deep appreciation for Darrell’s leadership and his legacy cannot be overstated. His lifetime commitment to our industry and 30 years of leadership along with the shared vision of the Board have led to the strong foundation we have, which makes this transition possible,” said President Steven Fricker.
IWFA has partnered with AMR Management Services, Inc., a Kentucky-based accredited association management firm for comprehensive services including association management, strategic leadership, financial management and membership support. Christina Horsley, CMP, will represent AMR as IWFA’s Executive Director.
Horsley brings more than two decades of association management experience with a background in operational leadership, member engagement and volunteer management. She will work closely with IWFA’s Board of Directors, committees and members to build upon the strong foundation established during Smith’s tenure.
“Following a leader with Darrell’s long tenure is an honor and a responsibility,” Horsley said. “My priority is to listen and learn by talking with members, volunteer leaders and other industry professionals. While I bring extensive experience on the association management and operational side, our members are the experts in the industry. I see my role as bridging those two elements together to turn ideas into action.”
Smith will remain accessible during the transition, providing Horsley and IWFA leadership with the benefit of his institutional knowledge.
“This transition gives IWFA an opportunity to celebrate an extraordinary 30 years of leadership while positioning the association for a strong future,” said Vice President Michelle Hurtado. “Christina, together with AMR Management Services, brings significant association expertise and experience. Their leadership will help ensure that IWFA continues to deliver meaningful value to its members and the industry.”
IWFA extends its sincere appreciation to Darrell Smith for his three decades of service and looks forward to celebrating his many contributions to the association and the window film industry.
