Glass Technology Services (GTS) has officially launched GTS Innovation, a new dedicated innovation hub in Sheffield designed to support businesses, entrepreneurs, university spin-outs, and researchers working across the materials and advanced manufacturing sectors.
The new facility provides access to flexible workspace, meeting facilities, specialist equipment, technical expertise, and a collaborative network focused on helping organisations accelerate innovation and bring new ideas closer to commercial reality.
Located in the heart of Sheffield's renowned manufacturing and research community, GTS Innovation has been created to provide a practical environment where innovators can develop concepts, overcome technical challenges, and explore opportunities for growth without significant upfront investment.
The hub combines modern office space and collaboration areas with access to the expertise of GTS specialists, enabling users to test ideas, develop prototypes, and gain valuable insights throughout the innovation process.
Gareth Jones, Managing Director at GTS, said:
"Innovation is rarely achieved in isolation. The most successful ideas come from collaboration, technical expertise, and access to the right resources at the right time.
"With GTS Innovation, we've created a space where businesses and innovators can access practical support, specialist knowledge, and a network of people committed to helping ambitious ideas succeed. Whether you're a start-up looking to develop a concept, a university spin-out preparing for commercialisation, or an established manufacturer seeking to solve a technical challenge, we're here to help."
The launch reflects GTS's ongoing commitment to supporting innovation in materials science, processing technologies, and manufacturing development. By creating a dedicated environment for collaboration and problem-solving, the organisation aims to strengthen links between industry, academia, and emerging businesses while contributing to Sheffield's growing reputation as a centre for advanced manufacturing and research.
As well as providing workspace and facilities, GTS Innovation offers opportunities for organisations to engage directly with technical specialists, explore demonstration technologies, and participate in collaborative workshops designed to accelerate innovation and improve outcomes.
The hub is available to innovators at all stages of development, from early-stage concept exploration through to product and process optimisation.
Gareth Jones added:
"Technology plays an important role in innovation, but it is people who turn ideas into reality. Our goal is to create an environment where innovation can flourish through collaboration, expertise, and shared ambition. We are excited to welcome organisations and individuals with ideas that have the potential to make a real impact."
