Globally installed cumulative PV capacity has surpassed the 100 GW mark in 2012 and will triple by 2018 according to the new Medium-Term Renewable Energy Market Report of the International Energy Agency - IEA. Reflecting that PV solar energy is now becoming a major and mature electricity source, the Conference Programme of the EU PVSEC 2013 extends it focus on application and policy-oriented topics with the inclusion of the related players. New materials, PV system aspects including reliability, dispatchability and grid integration issues and the role of PV as building material are examples of key topics addressed in Paris.
