"With one of the first foreign representative offices in Moscow, DuPont has been present in Russia for more than 30 years.

In the last two years, the country has stood out because of its speed of development and expansion. All DuPont businesses in Russia have shown double digit growth with an average growth rate of 40 percent. Our ambition is to be a strong local player with empowered local leadership firmly embedded at the hub of this fast-developing regional economy.

Fueled by the oil and gas industry, Russia is growing at an unprecedented rate for a country of its size, with a seven percent gross domestic product (GDP) annual growth rate. A formidable, well-educated pool of human talent has emerged to revitalize the Russian business world. This has enabled us to create a dynamic, experienced and motivated team, of which we are very proud."

DuPont: A Strong Local Player

In 2006, DuPont Russia recorded growth of 45 percent with sales of more than USD 300 million, mostly driven by growth in the agriculture and nutrition, oil and gas, automotive and construction industries.

DuPont Russia has two production sites: DuPont Khimprom, Novocheboksarsk, for crop protection products; and joint venture DuPont-Russian Coatings, Yaroslavl, for original equipment manufacturer coatings.

DuPont Russia has R&D facilities for the DuPont Titanium Technologies and Imaging Technologies businesses. An office in St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city, and an R&D laboratory in Yaroslavl, are scheduled to open this month.

In the 34 years since DuPont began operations in Russia, it has served the region's five fastest growing industries: construction, oil and gas, agriculture, automotive and health. Other industries where we have partnerships include aerospace, electronics, food processing, transportation, printing, paints and textiles.

DuPont Russia employs over 200 employees and contractors at the Moscow headquarters, and in regional offices in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh, Krasnodar, Stavropol and Rostov-on-Don. In the last two years, the number of DuPont Russia employees has almost doubled.
