DuPont: Building Innovations and Surfaces Team Continues to Capture Builder Markets

The strategy currently employed by DuPont’s Building Innovations (BI) team is producing concrete results.

By supplying the right materials for builders needs, adding brand recognition, and ensuring quality performance, BI has recently acquired exclusives with three large “top-twenty” builders in the United States. In 2006, WCI Communities Inc, Mercedes Homes, and Pulte Homes signed on to feature Corian® and Zodiaq™ as their exclusive solid surfaces within the kitchens of their new construction homes.

By including more than 20 of the latest colors and finishes of Corian® into the product exclusives, the builders are able to customize the look of their kitchens to reflect regional variations and consumer preference. According to Mike Terranova, the DuPont sales liaison to Pulte Homes, “This exclusive offers them [Pulte] the chance to centralize the decision making process surrounding kitchen and bath surfaces, while providing builders the option of choice within a nationally recognized brand line. Pulte’s exclusive with DuPont Building Innovations offers consumers quality performance and builders astounding brand recognition.”

Rick Rojas, VP of Supply Chain Management at WCI, stands behind the belief that DuPont materials complement the lifestyle communities his company offers. By partnering with the DuPont Building Innovations team, his company has come to recognize the aesthetic value and functionality of the Corian® and Zodiaq™ surfaces. According to Rick, “DuPont provides us with not only a quality performance product, but also the networking service and brand recognition our company prides itself upon. Entering into an exclusive with DuPont has helped us actively pursue our strategy for continued growth through strategic partnerships and developed product branding.”
