Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) recently conducted talks with three major glass suppliers in Japan in attempts to diversify its LCD glass supply in 2010, according to company chairman Lin Wei-Shan. Lin indicated supply from Corning has been tight.

Rush orders from the LCD TV and monitor segments have put particular pressure on LCD panel makers' 6G plants, which are experiencing serious shortages of glass substrates, he said.
