On April 24, the construction of the first production line in China for lithium aluminosilicate float special glass, Qinghai Yaohua production line for lithium aluminosilicate float special glass has started in Ledu Industry Park.

The total investment of the project is RMB 450 million Yuan and there are two phases for construction; RMB 260 million Yuan is planned for Phase I investment, which is to build a production line for lithium aluminosilicate float glass with melting capacity of 30-60 tons/day; RMB 190 million Yuan is planned for Phase II investment, which is to build a special glass processing plant. The electric melting production technology is adopted for this production line, which can produce the borosilicate glass, aluminosilicate glass, lithium silicate glass, crystallite glass and other various special glasses. The products have high strength, high hardness, high photopermeability, high temperature resistance, good heat stability, low density and other characteristics. The products are mainly used in the aerospace, high-end automobile, military industry, precise instrument and other high-tech industries, and they are new type glass product with great prospect. With the development of industry for special glass processing, it can fill in the blank of various special glasses in China and reduce the dependence on the imported special glass, and promote the development of high and new technology industry in Qinghai as well.
