CMS Window Systems Wins Scotland's Leading Green Award

Date: 4 December 2015

One of Scotland’s most sustainable door and window companies has once again won a prestigious Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Award.

CMS Window Systems manufactures and installs PVCu, aluminium and timber aluminium composite windows, doors and curtain walling systems, as well as installing cladding systems and external wall insulation (EWI). It has won the Management SME award category in the VIBES Awards 2015, a feat it also achieved in 2009.JPG" />

The prestigious awards programme has been recognising the commitment, actions and achievements of Scottish companies in reducing their impact on the environment for 15 years.

This year’s VIBES shortlist included a diverse range of companies from across Scotland which have employed environmental best practice in their day-to-day activity to cut down on resource use, increase sustainability, improve reputation and improve the company’s bottom-line.

Andy Kerr, managing director at CMS says: “It’s fantastic to win this prestigious VIBES Award recognising our commitment to continually reviewing and enhancing our environmental performance throughout every aspect of our business. A sustainability ethos, in its broadest sense, is central to our business strategy. Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental best practice in areas such as recycling and energy efficiency has always been at the heart of our business.

Based at Castlecary near Glasgow, CMS operates a 15-acre HQ and manufacturing and recycling facility as well as an additional recycling plant in Fife. It also recently created an Innovation Hub - a new facility dedicated to advancing and facilitating the debate and progress towards the successful delivery of sustainable homes and buildings. Open for use by any independent organisation serving the building and housing sectors, the Innovation Hub combines state of the art conference, seminar and meeting spaces with an extensive showroom and exhibition zone in which visitors can explore the technology that goes into today’s advanced window, door, insulation and ventilation solutions.

In addition to providing a showcase for the range of window and door options provided by CMS, this showroom is unique in featuring displays from its supply chain manufacturers whose products are integral to CMS producing finished products of the absolute highest specification.
