Midlands based Freefoam customer General Building Plastics has been crowned Britain’s Best Small Business in the national Red Ribbon Awards.

The prestigious Red Ribbon Awards celebrate, recognise and honour the achievements of British family run and owned firms. GB Plastics, a Freefoam customer for over 10 years, is celebrating its Silver Anniversary this year, and has grown into a network of six branches in Shrewsbury, Walsall, Banbury, Kettering and most recently Oswestry with a £3.5M annual turnover business.

Supplying the full range of Freefoam products from fascia and soffit to rainwater systems, external cladding and internal PVC panelling, GB Plastics offer expert knowledge and high levels of customer service across the Midlands.

GB Plastics was founded in 1990 by Janet Sutherland who continues to work in the business alongside her son Alan and eldest daughter Wendy Hill, both Directors, and youngest daughter Clare Falls.

After collecting the Best Small Business Award and speaking on behalf of her family, Wendy Hill said: “Winning this award is amazing and overwhelming! It is a massive recognition of all the hard work over the years, for my family and each and every one of our incredible team.
