Laminated Glass Defect: Bubbles/Blur at Perimeter

I have a residential project where we installed casement windows and door glass panel to overlook at the great panoramic ocean view.

The laminated glass on the casement windows and doors recently began showing strange blur/bubbles around the edges of the glass (Pictures Available of Condition).

Does the above condition have a quick fix (home remedy) that can be used? Replacing the laminated glass would be very costly given the amount of windows at the residence. This condition can be observed on 90% of the windows.

Is this considered a typical laminated glass defect? The windows have some 14yrs installed but is this is normal on these windows and will always have the same condition? If not, what could have caused it? Humidity, sealant incompatibility, others?

Dear Friend,

It is very difficult to say as long as it is not seen physically or a good quality picture. Chances of delamination are also possible but since it is too old had it been delamination by now it would have spread to a bigger area and blurr totally. Unfortunately the solution is 'nt home remedy but a re autoclaving can improve or identify the exact problem. But only at a factory if it is a PVB laminate. Are the glasses tempered? If not they may be EVA or PU laminate.

The seaside residential projects always require high quality laminated glass.Reasons for bubbles are:

1/ Thin PVB interlayer thickness.

2/High humidity when laminating the glass

3/Incorrect laminate parameters.

4/the bad application environment and climate.

5/ bad and cheap pvb .

Morn always offers excellent quality lami, welcome contact me.
